SNTP Configuration

SNTP allows a network entity to communicate with time servers in the network/internet to retrieve and synchronize time

of day information. When this feature is enabled, the AP will attempt to retrieve the time of day information from the

configured time servers (primary or secondary), and, if successful, will update the relevant time objects in the AP. Perform

the following commands to configure the Simple Network Time Protocol.

(config-monitor)# sntp

(config-monitor-sntp)# day-light-savingtime unchanged

(config-monitor-sntp)# primary-server-name time.nist.gov

(config-monitor-sntp)# secondary-server-name string

(config-monitor-sntp)# sntp-status disable

(config-monitor-sntp)# time-zone dateline

Device-Name# show monitor sntp
